We travel to Asela for about two weeks every second year(2014, 15, 17, and 19 twice). Derartu is the only place we stay. It is clean, safe, the staff is pleasant, the restaurant serves good food at a reasonable price, and we have never been sick at this hotel. The hot water is reliable. The wifi is spotty, but remember where you are. I would compare this hotel to a budget hotel in America, like Motel 6, but for Asela, it is the best.
