African Lakes Ethiopia PLC was founded in 1961 as AMROPA Motors Limited. The company represented Ford Motors Company in Ethiopia since inception and was originally owned by the Swiss Group namely AMROPA Motors was then acquired by the African Lakes, UK in 1973 and the company’s name was changed to AFCOR, Ethiopia PLC in January 1986, and subsequently to African Lakes (Ethiopia) in March 2000.
